The scene was wonderful. Parents popping little people in open top autos. Their tiny eyes bulging as the engine revs. Then away they go for a spring around some street circuit off the Albert dock. It was not a long run and probably could not really open up the vehicle to its operating high spots but the donors, or their children, all returned with faces aglow.
So what was the most popular car choice. For me, if I had donated, I was going for the orange Lamborghini Nothing else will do. Over on the board they had a list of all the cars to choose from and information about them. If we use this board to decide which was the most popular, by noting which was in evidence least for all the time we observed the deal. There is no discussion. Only one car seemed to be never there when we walked past. Until the last 10 minutes of the fundraiser we did not once see - the Holden Club Sport.
Heck - put all those cars up for a spin in Liverpool and the winner is a holden build in Elizabeth north of Adelaide.
